This project was a self study of my methods and values when I apply them to the field of design.

I started the project by brainstorming keywords and phrases. I settled on utility, efficiency, and independent as the best terms with which to define my practice.

I used linocut, one of my absolute favorite mediums to design an image and give my project an aesthetic that would unify the poster series. Linocut invokes utility by being a really bare-bones design and implementation process. You develop efficiencies in this medium over time, and the end product is a print, the most democratic artistic medium that allows the artist to be an independent contributor of ideas to the design dialog.
