Rule Break by Anna Syvertsson, from Peow. Anna’s comics are funny in the way the internet tries to be but isn’t. Everything Peow puts out is superb, buy all their books
Ripples, A Detective’s Diary, by Wai Wai Pang, also from Peow. Delightful schoolyard detective story. lots of little maps and inventories. soft pencils. A+ Seriously go buy everything Peow makes
Sex Fantasy by Sophia Foster-Dimino, from Koyama Press. Sophia’s expert work with line and shape make stories about intimacy come alive and feel embarrassing and beautiful and tragic and beautiful
Lara Croft Was My Family by Carta Monir, for ZEAL. Heartbreaking look at the tip of an iceberg of abuse, the only safe space available being a shared tradition of dissociation through gaming. I saw Carta read this live at Zine Not Dead and I cried real hard.
